Getting to Bohol from Cebu
Most Cebu-to-Bohol trips are one of two shapes: the main ferry arrival into Tagbilaran if you are staying on Panglao or doing the classic countryside loop, or the less-common Tubigon arrival if you are heading farther north or west on the island. For most trips, arrive in Tagbilaran
If your end point is Panglao, Tagbilaran itself, or the classic inland loop around Loboc, Corella and the Chocolate Hills, the practical arrival is Tagbilaran City port. Tagbilaran is Bohol's capital and main sea gateway, and the onward drive to Panglao or inland starts from there.

Use Tubigon only when the north-west side helps you
Tubigon is the north-west Bohol alternative. It makes more sense when your stay is in the island's northern or western belt, or when you are travelling with a vehicle on a RORO-style crossing, rather than aiming straight for Panglao.
- Tubigon is a municipality on Bohol's north-west coast, so it can cut the Bohol road leg for some north-island stays.
- If you are still ending up in Panglao, Alona or the usual countryside loop, Tagbilaran is usually the simpler arrival.

Think of the trip as three booked pieces
The smooth version of Cebu to Bohol is three pieces arranged around one arrival: the Cebu-side ride to the ferry terminal, the public ferry ticket, and the Bohol-side pickup.
